The Project: 52 in 52

Once upon a time, a friend of mine (the incredible Jeff Burrow) had the idea to do 52 things in 52 weeks.  These 52 things would be U of T related, whether it was participating in something, showing up to an event, attending a lecture series etc. Well, said friend never went through with said project, even though it was a brilliant idea – so instead I will hijack his project and attempt to attend 52 events in 52 weeks.

Goals:

  • Connect with the University in my capacity as a student, and a staff member
  • See what’s going on in different departments/faculties/divisions around the University
  • Learn more about myself and what my interests are/what my role is in the University
  • Connect my experiences to learning/development
  • Simulate the experience of a keen part time graduate student!

Rules:

  • Look for diverse opportunities, step out of my comfort zone
  • Attempt to participate in one thing per week
  • Give myself permission to change up the schedule – life happens
  • Log the experience in this blog once completed

This blog is here as a way for me to remember my experiences (because I forget things really easily), and a tool for me to reflect on each event.  I'm not crazy about the layout (it annoys the heck out of me that I can't change the number of posts per line...I'm not willing to learn CSS), but this blog is also a project just for me - no publicizing, or tagging, or effort into monetization/photo naming this time.

Here we go!
